Vietnam National Forum on Education Innovation with AI 2025 launched

The Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training and RMIT 91tv Vietnam have partnered to officially launch the “Vietnam National Forum on Education Innovation with AI”.

This national forum brings together experts, educational administrators, teachers, and lecturers from across the country to share experiences and best practices in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies in education.

The Forum is part of the “EEAI: Empowering Educators with AI” project proposed and implemented by a team of RMIT Vietnam experts. Funded by RMIT Vietnam’s Strategic Innovation Challenge, the EEAI project is committed to contributing to the development of education in Vietnam. It aims to enhance the capacity of Vietnamese educators and educational administrators to integrate AI into learning and teaching activities as well as education management, supporting the country’s broader digital transformation efforts.

  • Lecturers from universities and vocational schools
  • Educational administrators at various levels (Office/Department/Ministry of Education and Training)

Key activities

The forum will feature a series of activities starting with the Forum’s launch ceremony on 9 April 2025 at RMIT 91tv Vietnam’s Hanoi campus, attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, RMIT 91tv Vietnam, the Australian Embassy, ​​UNICEF Vietnam, Departments of Education and Training, and various universities.

The subsequent activities of the Forum in 2025 include:

1. Seminar on “Implementing AI applications in education: Current situation and solutions”

Scheduled for 9 May 2025 in Hanoi, the seminar will discuss the current implementation of AI in education and propose practical solutions.

2. Specialised training program on AI applications in teaching and learning

A series of free workshops delivered by experts to help Vietnamese educators improve their capacity to apply AI, especially generative AI, in learning and teaching.

  • Nationwide online workshops: a series of five online workshops held on Saturdays from 10 May to 7 June
  • In-person workshops for administrators and key teachers from K-12 schools: organised in Hanoi (for Northern provinces), Da Nang (for Central provinces), and Ho Chi Minh City (for Southern provinces), tentatively in July 2025
  • Hybrid workshops for administrators and key lecturers from tertiary educational institutions: tentatively held in Ho Chi Minh City in August 2025

3. National contest on AI applications in education

A nationwide contest focusing on AI applications, open to all teachers and lecturers in Vietnam, including categories for both general education and higher education, with submissions centred on utilising AI in teaching and learning activities.

  • Contest guidelines: to be announced in April 2025
  • Submission deadline: end of July 2025
  • Announcement of the top 100 entries advancing to the final round: early September 2025

4. Vietnam Education Innovation Festival with AI

This event will feature the contest’s final round and awards ceremony to honour educators with outstanding AI application projects. It will also include an exhibition showcasing AI and digital technology initiatives in education, a summary, and the closing ceremony of the 2025 Forum.

  • Expected time: October 2025
  • Expected venue: RMIT 91tv Vietnam, Saigon South campus

The Vietnam National Forum on Education Innovation with AI promises to become a professional platform for the application of AI and digital technologies in education.

It aims to create opportunities for exchange, learning, and experience sharing, as well as practical contributions to upskill teachers and educational administrators nationwide, in line with the direction set by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The forum also strives to forge collaborative connections between schools, educational institutions, and management agencies, thereby creating sustained positive impacts and promoting the digital transformation of the Vietnamese education sector.
