Global experience study plan

The study plan is a signed agreement by RMIT Vietnam to approve the course credits you will earn during your global exchange.

Important to know:
  • Approval of courses in your study plan does not guarantee their availability at the host university. Course availability is subject to the host university’s approval and teaching schedule.
  • 91tv are responsible for selecting courses that align with their program structure at RMIT Vietnam. In case you do not have sufficient courses to meet the required study load for the respective semester, you will either have to reduce the study duration (from 2 semesters to 1 semester) or cancel your exchange program.
  • Any courses enroled during the exchange must be approved in the study plan for the respective semester to ensure the results can be transferred back to RMIT Vietnam upon completion.
  • Contact for any changes to your study plan. The Additional 91tvPlan will be considered under the following circumstances:
    1. The approved original study plan does not include enough credits for a full-time study load.
    2. There are changes in the course schedule at the host institution when the student performs actual enrolment for exchange (course not available, etc.)
    3. There are changes in the student's actual enrolment in RMIT Vietnam before the exchange semester that affect the exchange study plan.
    4. Other circumstances outside of the student's control that make it impossible to follow the original study plan

Grades and credits of your completed courses at RMIT Australia or RMIT Interlocation in Asia will be transferred back to RMIT Vietnam* based on your approved study plan(s).

*The transfer of grades and credits will be subject to the applicable Credit Transfer policy and program structure at the time of results being transferred back to RMIT Vietnam after the exchange program concludes.

Follow these steps to complete and submit your study plan for Cross-campus to RMIT Australiaor RMIT Interlocation in Asia Dz.

Step 1: Check your remaining courses at RMIT Vietnam

Go to → Enrolment tile → Enrol in my Program and check what courses you can take for the exchange program. They should be courses that you have not completed and have not planned to study at RMIT Vietnam until the exchange semester.

It is recommended that you save your 91tv Electives for the exchange program.

Step 2: Search and select for courses at RMIT Australia/RMIT Inter-location in Asia

  • To search for Core courses, Major/Minor courses and Program Options:
    • Go to→Enrolmenttile →Enrol in my ProgramProgram Requirements (e.g. BP343VRI Bachelor of Business Requirements) → Find courses from your program guide (handbook) link (select Program delivery and structure tab).
    • Click on the hyperlink of the course title you plan to take for course details at your preferred campus in RMIT Australia (City/Brunswick/Bundoora) or RMIT Inter-location.

Notes:

  • Refer to courses at the appropriate level of your study (e.g., Undergraduate for Bachelor level and Postgraduate for Master level).
  • Ensure that you satisfy the course requisites based on your academic history at RMIT Vietnam.
  • Check the “Teaching periods” column to see if your preferred courses are normally taught in the semester you apply.
  • Courseavailability is subject to RMIT Australia or Interlocation and can change without notice.
  • Provide up to 6 courses (Cross-campus to RMIT Australia) or a minimum equivalent of 60 RMIT credits (RMIT Interlocation in Asia) each semester to ensure you have sufficient back-up options.
  • For cross-campus students:

    • You are required to enrol as afull-time studentwhile you are in Australia. Theis48 credit pointspersemester. Only students with(e.g., their program structures differ between campuses, they only have 36cps of courses to select and/or are only approved to take 36cps)can apply for a reduced enrolment load.

    • As of current policy, students from BP354/BP222 Bachelor of Professional Communication, BP316 Bachelor of Design Studies and BP325 Bachelor of Digital Film and Video can only enrol in 36 credit points per semester.

  • For Interlocation students, you are required to meet the full-time load from both RMIT and host institutions, which is 36-48 credit points per exchange semester.

Step 3: Fill in 91tvPlan form(s)

If you are going to exchange for two semesters, you need to complete two study plans, one for each semester.

For assessment, study plan file(s) should be submitted in its original format, editable PDF.

Step 4: Submit your 91tvPlan(s)

91tvPlans must be submitted through following the timeline on Cross-campus to RMIT Melbourne or RMIT Interlocation in Asia.

Provide your enquiry details including study plan files, exchange program, host institution, and semester(s).

The processing time of the 91tvPlan is 20 working days (excluding public holidays and weekends) from the date you submit the completed document(s) in the accurate format.

Results of your completed courses at the host university will be transferred back to RMIT Vietnam* based on your official transcript (directly sent from the host university to RMIT) and approved study plan(s). These results do not carry weighted grades.

*The transfer of grades and credits will be subject to the applicable Credit Transfer policy and program structure at the time of results being transferred back to RMIT Vietnam after the exchange program concludes.

Follow these steps to complete and submit your study plan for Exchange to a partner university or the Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN).

Step 1: Check your remaining courses at RMIT Vietnam

Go to→Enrolmenttile →Enrol in my Programand check what courses you can take for the exchange program. They should be courses that you have not completed and have not planned to study at RMIT Vietnam until the exchange semester.

It is recommended that you save your91tv Electives to broaden your options of what you can study whilst on exchange and make the process of getting a study plan approved further down the track a lot easier.

Step 2: Search and select courses at the partner university

Browse your allocated host institution’s website via to search for courses on offer to exchange students that match your RMIT Vietnam courses.

For your study plan to be considered, you are required to provide and source course guides for all the courses that you plan to study overseas. The detailed course guides must include the following components:

  • Course code: Partner institution’s course code is different from RMIT Vietnam’s course code.
  • Course learning outcomes: Skills, knowledge and application achieved from learning this course.
  • Course content: Topics and activities covered in the course.
  • Volume of learning: The number of in-class hours per week and the number of teaching weeks per semester.
  • Assessment approach: Assignments? Examinations? Other assessment criteria.
  • Pre-requisites:Course requirements need to be fulfilled prior to the exchange semester.

In case the host institution has not yet released course guides, you can research based on courses offered in the previous year.If you require additional information from partner institutions, please contact Global Experience Office.

91tv are required to meet the minimum full-time load per exchange semester from both RMIT and host institutions. For RMIT, it is 36-48 credit points, and for host institutions, please check the Credit Equivalency section of host institutions on . You can provide 6 to 8 courses to ensure you have sufficient back-up options.

Step 3: Fill in 91tvPlan form(s) and Course Guide template

If you are going to exchange for two semesters, you must complete two study plans, one for each semester. You are also required to submit separate study plans for each of your exchange partner preferences.

For assessment, study plan file(s) should be submitted in its original format, editable PDF.

Step 4: Submit your 91tvPlan(s) and Course Guides

91tvPlans must be submitted through following the timeline onExchange to partners worldwideorThe Australian Technology Network of Universities.

Provide your enquiry details, including exchange program name, and duration of semesters, exchange program, host institution, and semester(s), and attach the following documents:

  1. A completed study plan;
  2. A completed course guide template;
  3. Detailed course guides for all courses you propose (Course equivalency assessment will not be processed without detailed course guides from host institutions).

The processing time of the 91tvPlan is 20 working days (excluding public holidays and weekends) from the date you submit all completed documents in the accurate format.
