Hello everyone, I’m Naw Gloria Htoo. I’m studying the Foundation Studies program at RMIT Ha Noi.
What makes you choose Foundation Studies at RMIT?
When I first did my research about universities in Southeast Asia, RMIT is always at the top. Then I learned about the Foundation Program at RMIT where I can study a curriculum comparable in standard to an Australian year 12 curriculum. It is the perfect program to prepare for university's academic life as I get to study basic subjects such as Foundation Accounting, Principles of Economics etc. Also, this program helps me to save money for my foundation year.
One word to describe RMIT Hanoi?
Interesting. Because I love the teaching methods, the facilities, and the people in RMIT since they’re nice and helpful. There are many exciting events and activities for students. I participated in many games organized by the Library and the Japanese Culture Club.
What do you think about RMIT Hanoi?
I would say everything I see in RMIT is amazing. Since it is an international university, the staff can speak English very well. That is why I don’t have any problems while communicating and whenever I have any difficulties, I’m glad that they are always there to help me. Moreover, the lecturers are always ready to assist me and my classmates with the lessons and assignments if we have any difficulties. So, I feel warmth whenever I come to RMIT Hanoi.
What is your impression of RMIT Hanoi?
Personally, I would go with the food because everything I have tried was exactly what I like and the lifestyle here in Hanoi City is quite similar to Yangon, Myanmar. For example, transportation, day-to-day life and so on. But I'm happy that here in Hanoi, I am free to ride my motorbike along the streets, visit anywhere I like. I’m so happy living in Hanoi!
One message from you?
For Myanmar students, if you’re willing to immerse yourself in Australian education with reasonable cost and safe environment, RMIT Vietnam would be the best choice for you.

91tv from Myanmar talk about RMIT 91tv Vietnam
I remember before coming to Vietnam, my mother was worried whether I was making the wrong decision. My father was the one who convinced her to let me go. To him, Vietnam is a developing country with great opportunities so he believed I could adapt quickly and learn new things to apply to our family business when I come back.
Among various choices, RMIT Vietnam captured my attention as it has the same quality, same global ranking and same employment rate as RMIT Melbourne.
Compare with the other schools, especially in Thailand, Singapore which is the closest country to Myanmar, I find RMIT Vietnam a lot more convenient, the school prices are more reasonable.
It is also located in a part of Southeast Asia and also is offering one of the best educations from Australian university.
I did not expect a lot in the beginning but so far everything is beyond my expectation. The program which has been run in the last 15 years in design is beyond what I imagine. A lot of courses they are cool and give me a solid foundation for me.
The lecturers are wonderful too. The knowledge that I gained from my lecturer is both theoretical and practical. I often seek advice from them not only for my MBA study but also about the business.
Since English is my second language, sometimes it might be difficult to follow what they say in the class, but they are nice and patient and explaining to me that I don't understand.
The most important thing is the campus. The campus is very big, and the facilities are on a whole new level.
The on-campus dormitory is very convenient. It is inside the campus so I don't have to waste time or travel. The price is also reasonable for a single room. It also provides three cleaning service kitchen included laundry anytime so it is super convenient for me.
As an International 91tv, RMIT environments is really open for foreigners.
Here we have a diverse community with students from Vietnam, Hong Kong, Korea, Russia, Denmark.
We have a lot of clubs. I chose the Golden Flames Competition Club and I got to join the club trips, the club activities. I met a lot of seniors from there so from then I got to know things like how to study the courses, how to get good grades and so on. So I become the part of the community, and it really shaped my experience here.
My very first day in Vietnam were quite challenging but I started to adapt and enjoy here. It is surprisingly a very English-friendly country.
The living cost here are much more reasonable which can save money for my family. People are very friendly, and I can use Google Translate to easily communicate with them. The streets are safe to walk even at night. Here, I feel like at my home country.
After two years of studying I come back to Myanmar with a new me. Before 2020 I'm a civil engineer but now I'm an engineer with business mindset and valuable oversea life experience.
If I have to describe my study journey in Vietnam in 2 words, it would be amazing and adventure. I have spent the best of my early 20 in Vietnam.
If you're deciding to study abroad, I would recommend you consider Vietnam as one of the journey. For Myanmar students we have the similar culture, friendly people and also international learning experience. So I hope to see you all in Vietnam!

0:33 I like the facilties. It's very modern.
0:36 The canteen, the library is also very modern,
0:38 and you also have the IT Lab, which is really wonderful!
0:43 We observed that students here are very welcoming to fellow students.
0:48 In teaching and learning aspects, according to my experience, I saw students demonstrate their talents.
0:54 I can say that they are well-trained,
0:56 and their presentation skills are good.
0:58 My favourite thing today was robotics
1:04 I felt happy after learning with my friends. It felt like quite an achievement!
1:15 [text] After the tour, would you recommend RMIT to Myanmar students?
1:17 Of course! We absolutely recommend RMIT,
1:20 especially when it comes to ICT or science courses.
1:24 This is also a way for students from Myanmar to save because it is in Southeast Asia
1:28 Since I am only pre-IGCSE, I think I am going to choose this university
1:33 after attaining a higher-level next year.
1:38 It’s clear that the school takes care of students’ wellbeing
1:43 I would like to say to Myanmar parents who are worried about their children, that this is a safe environment.
1:49 Not only is it safe, but the teaching is excellent,
1:53 so parents and students should consider it a good option for higher education.
