Graduands are permitted to bring their cameras and take photos or film on campus for their graduation photoshoots before and during the graduation ceremonies, subject to the following guidelines: ​
1. Location restriction
Graduation photography and filming are allowed only in designated public areas, including:​
- Pathways between all buildings​
- ³¢²¹·É²Ô²õ​
- Outdoor sports fields/courts​
- Building halls (ensuring no disruption to classes or other activities)​
- REC lobby (ensuring no disruption to other users)​
- Food court areas outside Building 1 and Building 2 (SGS Campus)​
- Specific outdoor installations set up for graduation
2. Approved photography/filming period​
The approved dates for photography on campus are the weekends before the 2025 Graduation ceremony: 12-13 April, and during the graduation ceremonies (during campus operating hours).​
3. Respect for campus experience​
Photography must not obstruct pathways, entrances, or facilities essential for academic and administrative operations.​
Drones and other aerial photography equipment are not permitted.​
Photography or filming of any other individual is strictly prohibited without their permission and consent. Nonconsenting individuals should not be identifiable in any of the images.​
Use of extensive filming equipment, loud music, excessive noise, or activities that may disrupt campus operations is not allowed.​
4. Purpose of photography/filming​
Authorisation applies exclusively to RMIT-issued gown photoshoots.​
The use of graduation gowns and other related props should reflect the authentic spirit of the occasion​
Unauthorised gatherings and commercial photography sessions will not be allowed. Security personnel have the authority to check and stop activities that violate the purpose of the shoot.​
5. Restrictions on external photographers​
