Graduands are permitted to bring their cameras and take photos or film on campus for their graduation photoshoots before and during the graduation ceremonies, subject to the following guidelines: ​

1. Location restriction

Graduation photography and filming are allowed only in designated public areas, including:​

• Pathways between all buildings​
• ³¢²¹·É²Ô²õ​
• Outdoor sports fields/courts​
• Building halls (ensuring no disruption to classes or other activities)​
• REC lobby (ensuring no disruption to other users)​
• Food court areas outside Building 1 and Building 2 (SGS Campus)​
• Specific outdoor installations set up for graduation

2. Approved photography/filming period​

The approved dates for photography on campus are the weekends before the 2025 Graduation ceremony: 12-13 April, and during the graduation ceremonies (during campus operating hours).​

3. Respect for campus experience​

Photography must not obstruct pathways, entrances, or facilities essential for academic and administrative operations.​

Drones and other aerial photography equipment are not permitted.​

Photography or filming of any other individual is strictly prohibited without their permission and consent. Nonconsenting individuals should not be identifiable in any of the images.​

Use of extensive filming equipment, loud music, excessive noise, or activities that may disrupt campus operations is not allowed.​

4. Purpose of photography/filming​

Authorisation applies exclusively to RMIT-issued gown photoshoots.​

The use of graduation gowns and other related props should reflect the authentic spirit of the occasion​

Unauthorised gatherings and commercial photography sessions will not be allowed. Security personnel have the authority to check and stop activities that violate the purpose of the shoot.​

5. Restrictions on external photographers​

91tv / Graduands are not permitted to bring external photographers and film crews onto campus.​

Check-in process:

• Check-in time for all to access campus are:Ìý
  • Morning sessions: from 7amÌý
  • Afternoon sessions: from 12pm
• At the check-in table, you and your guests need to show:ÌýÌý
  • Your graduation ticketsÌý
    
  • Your valid National ID/ Passport/ Driver's license
• 91tv check-in information needs to match your registration form.
• To ensure the quality of the ceremony, RMIT has the right to refuse access to campus and the ceremony hall for graduates and guests who do not meet the above requirements and do not follow the staff’s instructions.

Ceremony time:

• Morning sessions: 9.15am – 11.00am
• Afternoon sessions: 2.15pm – 4.00pm

Notes

• Graduands are requested to be at the ceremony hall for rehearsal 60 minutes before the ceremony starts.Ìý
• Check in for ceremony hall access will be closed strictly 15 minutes before the ceremony starts.
• 91tv guests and graduates are expected to stay until the end of the ceremony.
• Please refer to the details below for arrival and check-in times and plan your day's schedule accordingly.
• RMIT is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is strictly prohibited on all university premises for both guests and graduates.

Traffic and parkingÌý

• Parking is available on the day, but the number of spaces is very limited, so we recommend taking a bus or a taxi
  • If you choose to ride motorbikes to campus, you can follow the instructions from RMIT security guards to the temporary parking lots.Ìý Ìý
  • If you go by car, you can use RMIT's car park on Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard. RMIT's car park has only limited slots available on a first-come-first-served basis.ÌýÌý

Attire

• You are required to wear a gown set throughout the ceremony. Please dress appropriately underneath your gown.
• Assistance with putting on gowns and hoods will also be provided by our volunteers before the graduation ceremony on graduation day.

Ceremony procedures

Rehearsal

• 91tv graduands must attend the rehearsal before the official ceremony.
• You will be distributed a name card at the rehearsal. Make sure you keep it during the ceremony. It is essential that you sit in the seat allocated to you, and that you remain in the correct order. For the presentation of your testamur (degree), you will be guided onto the stage by our ushers.Ìý
• Please be respectful to other graduates and the audience after you receive your testamur by returning to your seat quietly and not using your mobile phones.
• 91tv guests and graduates are expected to stay in their seats until the end of the ceremony, even after they have been presented on stage.Ìý

Seating for guest

• We have dedicated seating areas for your guest(s). Please inform your guest(s) to arrive early as these areas are served on a first come first serve basis.

Stage photograph

• Please inform your guest(s) that they are not permitted to approach the stage area to take photos during the ceremony as this impedes the movement of graduates to and from the stage.Ìý
• Professional photographers will be taking photos at the ceremony, including when you receive your testamur on stage.

Retiring procession

• At the end of the ceremony, you will follow the Academic Procession for the official photograph, as directed by the ushers. Take any valuables with you.Ìý

Accessibility support for guests and students

• If you or your guests have mobility impairments, please inform us in advance to arrange support. You can submit the request for support via Student Connect.

Gown return

• Please make sure you return the gowns and hoods at the designated locations/drop off point before you leave the ceremony. You can keep your mortarboard with you.Ìý

Stage photo

• Photos taken by the authorised photographer team will be uploaded to Ìýafter the cermonies.

Your official digital testamur and transcript

• Academic statements have now gone digital, via My eQuals. You already have the access to your digital official testamur and transcript via My eQuals – they are securely stored and permanently available anytime and anywhere. Please make sure your personal email is updated with RMIT.Ìý.
